Call for Papers - Nanomaterials: Synthesis, processing, properties, and applications.

The last decade has seen an explosion of interest in the area of nanomaterials. Be it laptops, smart phones, cancer diagnostics, pollution control, or technology to combat deadly viruses – nanomaterials are being explored for use in these areas and the number of commercial products exploiting nanomaterials is increasing by the day.

Defined as ‘materials with any external dimension or internal structure in the nanoscale’, these materials exhibit properties that are significantly different compared to their bulk counterparts. In spite of the many advantages, the fabrication, processing and characterization of nanomaterials continue to be a challenging area of active research with ample opportunities for discovery.

This topical collection ‘Nanomaterials: Synthesis, processing, properties, and applications’ seeks to provide a venue not only for the ongoing experimental research in nanomaterials but also theoretical research that elucidates nanomaterials and their properties. Manuscripts presenting high quality original research and reviews articles in all areas of nanomaterials research are solicited for this topical collection.

Topics of interest (not limited to):

  • Nanomaterial synthesis
  • NanowiresNanoparticles
  • Quantum wells
  • Quantum dots
  • Self assembly
  • Directed assembly
  • Thin films
  • Nanoscale fabrication
  • Nanoscale processing
  • Nanoscale properties of materials
  • Characterization of nanomaterials
  • Applications of nanomaterials
  • Computational nanomaterials
